The owner of the accomodation Jeswin is amazing! He helped us organize boat trips and a night on a river boat. He also helps with ordering food to the hotel and provides tea and coffee. The location is beautiful - right on the river so you can see the boats go past. We were here for three nights and could stay for a lot longer!

I just stayed a night and was very pleased with the room. It felt fresh and clean and had a big comfy bed. The balcony was a nice feature. Breakfast in included and had some yummy Indian basics and watermelon. It was dreadfully hot there and the A/C unit worked great. The location is somewhat close to the train station, perhaps a 20-minute walk (which might feel like an hour in the heat!). Getting to the beach is quick, there's a path past the property and over the train tracks to the beach and it takes two to three minutes. If you want to go downtown it's either a long long walk, an auto rickshaw or several minutes walk to the road with all the buses.

Alleppey feels more of a jumping off point for back-water tours, rather than anything of note in and of itself. The main beach is only really good for going for a stroll to watch the (always cloudy) sunset - it's not setup for daytime relaxation. Stepping into the town, there are very few good places to eat, and as a Westerner the lack of being able to sit somewhere with an alcoholic drink was rather strange (there are liquor stores you can buy drink from for consumption in private). We stayed as a base for five nights - two, or maximum three would have sufficed.

The beach was nice, Boathouse that we took was that good, we took the day trip boat food was not within the expectation was very disappointed as the cook was from norther instead of local cook. Therefore we had only 2 kerala dishes vegetable and friend wish other menu was Dhal, rice , chapati and raita, mix veg. The starting point of boathouse was very disappointing where we saw kids diapers , and other plastic garbage floating around. Hope they can maintain the clearness and also ensure local food is serve on the boathouse. Otherwise the journey was beautiful we took a smaller boat to visit the local houses more closer.

A nice place to visit just for a day.
A nice place to visit just for a day. We opted for Shikara boats, which worked perfectly. Some people may prefer to spend their nights in a house boat, although, It may be quite boring for such long hours in still water.
The Alleppey beach is a must visit. A lot of people also visit Marari beach, however, I personally prefer the Alleppey beach since its much cleaner.
Must try - Seafood (although I am a Vegetarian, so cannot comment on that).
Most likely, one may visit this place only once and there are very less things to do here. So planning the trip for 1 or 1.5 days is more than enough.

We did the Charlotte Cruise Boat at Alleppy as a couple for one night. The check in was better than most hotels we visited in India! Our host introduced us to the boat’s captain and chef! We were greeted with fresh coconut water and the check in was smooth. The boat was wonderful! Just like a hotel setting but on water. The views were spectacular and food was delicious! We got to pick our own fish from a local fisherman and got to go on a smaller canal boat for an hour whilst the sunset and see the narrower parts of the backwaters. The only drawback is we were not informed of the additional cost of this which was RS1000 but it was worth it!

Alleppey is probably the nicest town along this bit of the coast, its noticeably cleaner and friendlier than other more touristy places. The beach front is slightly spoiled visually by the new raised coast highway being built but once you've got used to the structure you sort of forget it and get on with other things. The town is going through a period of change and will hopefully get better once many of the old historic buildings have been renovated and put to new uses. The town has clearly suffered from changes in industry but there is a move by the town council to breathe new life into the region and the investment will be worth it and make Alleppey great again!

Only stayed here for one night, as we were planning to take the government tourist ferry from Alleppey to Kollam. However we were told that the ferry stopped running over 2 years ago and their website has not been updated to reflect this.
A wonderful homestay property with a highly recommended host (couple). They did everything they could to make us comfortable and well served. The property itself is perched on the banks of the river with very nice touches. I was presently surprised to see the kayaks and we did enjoy a short outing on a beautiful sunset evening. Listening to the bird songs in the morning was totally worth it, and so was watching some lazy cruising boats on a not so busy water channel (thankfully).
Very peaceful stay and very near to beach..
World class hospitality by the hosts. Will never let you down..
Best food I have ever eaten in Kerala.. from the sumptuous dinner (best sea food I have ever ate) to the activating breakfast .. everything was good... They even have a BBQ setup.. inform them earlier for arrangements
Contact them early for houseboat or shikara bookings too.. they will arrange it for you... Much recommended stay for lovely food and comfortable sleep.
The experience on Venice Premium Houseboat is truly memorable. It was so relaxing and soothing that you can fully enjoy the beauty of Kerala Backwaters. The boating experience was so great that all the staffs are very helpful and the food here is exotic. If you are looking for a premium houseboat experience in Alleppey, then definitely go for Venice premium houseboats. They will provide the best luxury experience on board. Highly recommending !

Can only recommend this homestay!
It's was great staying at Kalappura homestay, the owner is very friendly and took time talking to us about everything. The room was very spacious, clean and he even gave us a better room than we booked! The breakfast was great too. It's really close to the city centre of Alleppey, but in a quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back here if we ever will be back in Alleppey!
We had 24hrs to kill in Alleppey and couldn’t have wished for more! From our first connection after booking Sabitha and the team were wonderful 💛 with advice on arrival, booking of the most amazing dawn canoe trip and even a zoomed earring shopping experience!!! There were smiles at every turn and added to that a sublime location to watch the world go by!!! We wished we had longer 💛💛💛
Best restaurant we found in Aleppey. Staff were so charming and helpful. They even noticed I hadn't gone to dinner one night and came by and asked if I wanted to order something for my room. Pooja and Hari lead a staff of kind, lovely people. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. There is a fancier hotel by Wyndham in town, but staying here was much better.
The scenery from the houseboat was really breathtaking. The staff was really enthusiastic to show us hidden view points which are really amazing . It was really a comfort stay with a clean boat and comfy room. Food was also really tasty. Varieties of fish and chicken were served. Overall an amazing experience one must have during their stay in Alleppey.
One the best home stay u will have in ur life time ....felt like being at home ..staff was soo kind and took care of our self ...food was out of the world the best Kerala food I had...and mam the owner of the property took care of us like her family to me the best part of Alleppey trip was this home stay..see you soon mam

Stay was very comfortable. It was wonderful view as stay was on Lake side. We enjoyed lake view with tea and coffew which was complimentary for us.Owner was really helpful. He booked shikara ride for us from hotel which is cheaper than other providers.
We booked for 4 people and called the hotel if we could add another friend and they agreed. Only hotel in Alleppey where we could find accommodation for 5 people in one spacious room. Affordable and overall wonderful stay.
Great place to stay in Alleppey! Mohammed is the best host you can imagine, he helps you with everything and is always available. Location is great, close to the beach and nice restaurants and cafés are nearby.
Uber Could be hard to get from this place. Not much near the Ameya itself. You have to go away from the hotel for activities. Though its a peaceful place. Natrajan is a great host at the property.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Alleppey.
Very modern and spotless rooms. Some of the best rooms/facilities we have stayed at during our trip around India. Great value for money and perfect for a night or two in Alleppey.
Hotel Location is very close to Allepey beach.
Property is close to boating jetty points.
Very limited Breakfast options but was OK.
Better for Own vehicle guests.
– The host was always very helpful, anticipated everything I needed. Incredible vibe, best value for money in Alleppey. I would love to go back one day.
